Promote the Need for Voter ID!

It is time we as Mississippians begin to speak out about voter ID.  For years we have heard that voter ID isn't a big issue in our great state of Mississippi, yet right now parts of our state are fighting voter fraud issues in one of the most hotly contested election cycles in any of our lifetimes.  Voter reform has been held hostage by our state House of Representatives (specifically the Speaker and his band of liberal merry men).  Our friends on the left tell us voter ID will hinder people from going to the polls, disenfranchising voters throughout the state.  They tell us that asking someone to prove they are who they say they are to ensure that the election process in Mississippi is accurate and honest is just too much to ask, while I have to show an ID to rent a hotel room, buy groceries, rent a car, go to a movie, make a loan, borrow a book from the library, and board an airplane.  Everywhere I go these days I have to show an ID for some reason or another.  And honestly, all of those reasons pale in comparison to my responsibility, my privilege, my right to vote.

We need to unite to demand accurate and honest elections by ensuring that each and every vote is cast in the proper manner.  No more of the liberal, left-wing ploys and countless excuses.  No more of the good ole boy politics.  No more of the vote early and vote often mentality that abounds throughout our state.  Let's promote the need for voter ID this election cycle - next Tuesday, November 4th.

When you go to the polls next Tuesday, as you step up to give the poll workers your name, have your ID in hand.  Show them you are who you say you are.  Make them look at it.  But be prepared because many poll workers will respond by saying, "You don't have to show that," or "Why are you showing that?"  Stand up for your right and responsibility to vote and tell them that you are promoting the need for voter ID.  If we all show our ID's voluntarily around the state next Tuesday, people will take notice and we can make a difference in this battle for voter reform.  Tell those at your polling place that you demand an accurate and honest election.  Call your election commissioners, county officials, and state representatives and tell them that you want them to help promote the need for voter ID.  Demand voter reform this next legislative session.  Tell them you're showing your ID Tuesday and you want others too as well, because even the chance for impropriety is not acceptable.  Protecting even one vote is worth the fight.

Join in the fight to protect our most sacred of all rights.  Help promote the need for voter ID this Tuesday, November 4th.  Show your ID and tell the poll workers, election officials, and state leaders that enough is enough - no more voter fraud in our great state.  Promote the need for voter ID - show yours.
